Water Utility Billing

Responsibilities

This division is responsible for managing the utility billing for water, sewer, solid waste and recycling services. Bedford bills over 14,000 utility accounts monthly. The City contracts with Republic Services for the collection of solid waste and recycling, and provides consolidated billing for these services with the customer's water and sewer bills.

Senior Discount

All Bedford residents 65 years of age and older are eligible for a discount on their utility services. Check your bill. If you see a $4.50 charge for drainage, you are receiving the senior discount. If not, please email staff a copy of your driver's license as an attachment requesting a senior discount.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available through a third party, Texas Utility Help. Visit the Texas Utility Help website to view qualifications and apply for assistance.

Payment Terms

  • Payments will be considered past due if they have not been received by the Customer Service Office located in City Hall, Building C by 5 p.m. on the due date printed on the bill.
  • If payment has not been received by the due date printed on the original bill, one delinquent notice will be mailed.
  • If full payment has not been received in the Customer Service Office by 5 p.m. on the due date printed on the delinquent notice (or approved payment arrangements have not been made), utility service will be terminated on the next business day.
  • The City accepts MasterCard, Visa, checks, money orders, or cashier's checks. If you are paying over the phone, there are additional options to pay with electronic check, Discover, American Express, MasterCard, and Visa debit or credit.
