At the virtual council meeting held Tuesday, May 5, 2020, the Bedford City Council made the difficult decision to cancel all summer programs and events, including Bedford Splash Aquatics Center, summer camp, 4thFest, and the Bedford Blues & BBQ festival. This will not only aid the City in protecting the health and well-being of the community and staff, but the savings will go toward funding essential services and help ease the financial burden, now and in the future.
Summer camp is a great place for kids who are between the ages of 6 and 12. Each day is filled with positive, supervised, fun activities. Themes are set for each week where staff is able to gear several activities towards that theme. Camp is hosted at the Boys Ranch Activity Center. Each week campers will be able to attend Bedford Splash to go swimming, and also make a trip to the Bedford Public Library. The camp is divided into 2 halves by age, meaning that 6-8 year olds are in one camp and 9-12 year olds are in the other.
Parents will enjoy a flexible drop off time as early as 7 a.m. and pick up as late as 6:30 p.m. each day.
