Membership

The Animal Shelter Advisory Board Consists of 5 members as follows:

  • 1 licensed veterinarian
  • 1 municipal official
  • 1 person whose duties include the daily operation of the Animal Shelter
  • 1 representative from an animal welfare organization
  • 1 representative from the general public

The veterinarian member shall either be a resident of the city, operate a veterinarian business within the city, or conduct veterinarian services within the city. Except for the municipal employees, all members serve 2-year terms.


Purpose

The Animal Shelter Advisory Board shall have the power and duties as set forth in the City of Bedford Code of Ordinances Section 18-25, Section 18-84 and Section 18-187, and as the City Council may from time to time impose upon the board.
