The Proposed budget for FY 2022-2023 can be viewed online. The City Council will review the proposed budget during the Budget Work Session on Wednesday, August 10 at 5 p.m. The tax rate used to calculate revenue for the proposed budget is $0.495726 per $100 valuation.
The City Council has called a public hearing on the FY 2022-2023 Budget and 2022 Tax Rate for Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The notice for the Budget Public Hearing can be found here. The Notice of the Meeting to Vote on the Tax Rate can be viewed here.
The tax rate proposed by staff to fund the FY 2022-2023 proposed budget is 0.495726 per $100 valuation.
NO-NEW-REVENUE TAX RATE: $ 0.507583 per $100
VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE: $ 0.495726 per $100
The no-new-revenue tax rate is the tax rate for the 2022 tax year that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for the City of Bedford from the same properties in both the 2021 tax year and the 2022 tax year.
The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate that the City of Bedford may adopt without holding an election to seek voter approval of the rate.
