THE BEDFORD VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!
THE PARKS BOND HAS PASSED AND IS ON ITS WAY TO REALITY
City leadership envisions a world-class park with amenities that will be multi-generational, multi-purpose, and multi-seasonal. This vision includes meeting the needs of residents and visitors of all ages, interests and capabilities.
On November 6, 2017, Bedford voters passed the General Obligation Parks Bond for $70 million, funding this next phase of construction at Generations Park, formerly Boys Ranch Park. Included in this bond are green spaces, sports fields, play areas, infrastructure, new aquatics facility, new community center, cultural amenities, walking/biking trails, specialty recreation areas, and safety features.
Council voted in June 2019 to allocate a total of $64.5 million towards the construction of the Generations Park, formerly Boys Ranch – Phase Next and $5.5 million towards the design and construction of a visual and performing arts center at the Old Bedford School.
The Bedford community voted to make this vision a reality and continued input and public participation will be necessary. Updates will be posted on the City website and Facebook page regularly.
