National Night is Tuesday, October 6, 2020. As a result of the pandemic, we plan on doing something different. Our first responders and city officials will be cruising through your community in what we are calling a Navigating National Night Out. Our department is designing a specific route that will come through your NNO event and connect to the next neighborhood NNO event.

Below are some ideas for your event:

  • Make signs or banners to display in yards
  • Have an art contest
  • Side Walk Chalk Art Competition
  • Update block list for people and pets

Please register by September 25, 2020 so we can be sure to add your community to our list!

Be safe and be healthy!

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, we invite all Bedford communities to participate in the “37th Annual National Night Out”. Neighborhoods around the city will turn on their outside lights and host block parties and cookouts to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

“National Night Out” is designed to:

  1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness

  2. Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs

  3. Bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances

  4. Send a message to criminals letting them know our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Registration is FREE and it gives the police department, fire department, and other city representatives an opportunity to attend your community's gathering.

Citizens or Neighborhoods interested in hosting a National Night Out Party may pick up a Participation Form at the Bedford Police Department or click here to download the Form. All completed forms must be turned in to the Police Department by Friday, September 25, 2020.
