Governor Abbott Announcement Governor Greg Abbott announced on April 13, 2020 that Goldman Sachs and the LiftFund, along with other community development financial institutions (CDFIs), are partnering to provide $50 million in loans to small businesses in Texas that have been affected by COVID-19 as part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.  Office of the Texas Governor Greg Abbott: Goldman Sachs, LiftFund $50M Loans for Texas Small Businesses
LiftFund Dallas/Fort Worth LiftFund is a non-profit organization, headquartered in San Antonio, that helps small business owners with limited access to capital. HEB Chamber of Commerce Webinar  The HEB Chamber of Commerce invited the City of Bedford to a virtual meeting with the SBA and several other chambers of commerce to review the different programs in the CARES Act that can provide financial assistance to businesses during this crisis. CARES Act Guide The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has created a guide to help small businesses, independent contractors, and gig economy workers prepare to file for a coronavirus relief loan under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.  U.S. Chamber of Commerce: COVID-19 Emergency Loans: Small Business Guide
SBA Loan Application (EIDL) The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) The SBA's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll.  SBA will forgive loans if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities.  The Paycheck Protection Program will be available through June 30, 2020. Sales Tax Payment Assistance The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts is offering assistance to businesses that are struggling to pay the full amount of sales taxes they collected in February.
