Bedford Public Library Questions

Are masks required?

Masks are required for the health and safety of the staff and patrons per Tarrant County’s Executive Order. Masks are available upon request. 

Is there an occupancy limit?

Entry is restricted to 25%.  Occupancy will be limited to maintain social distancing. Please follow signs and designated floor markings.

Are computers available?

A limited number of computers are available and can be used for up to 90 minutes per day.

How long can I stay in the library?

Please limit your visit to 30 minutes.  Seating has been removed to reduce the number of surfaces that need to be disinfected.

Where do I pick up my holds?

All holds will still be picked up at the drive-up window.  After receiving notification the hold is ready, drive up to the window with your library card, or a valid ID.  All holds are placed at the drive-up window.

How can I get a new library card if I don’t want to come inside.?

You can apply for a library card online at and click on the get a card button. Fill out the form. A library staff member will contact you. A Texas ID/DL will be required when you pick up the library card from the drive-up window. Children must have a parent or guardian apply for them. If you have questions, email

How can I place a hold or pick up a hold?

The library reopened on Monday, June 29, patrons will be able to place a hold in the library’s catalog.

How can I return library materials?

Patrons can return materials through the Library’s dropbox on the north side of the building 24/7. There will be no overdue fines during the Library closure. For the health and safety of the community and staff, all returned materials will be quarantined for 72 hours after checkin.

How can I pay my library fines/fees?

Patrons can still pay for overdue fines and lost item fees at the library Information Desk or online at Log in to your Library account (Login: 14 digit card number, no spaces | Password: Last 4 digits of card number by default), click ‘Your Fines’ in the menu on the left, then click the ‘Pay Now with SmartPay’ button.

How can I check out ebooks/audiobooks?

Library cardholders can also check out digital ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, & graphic novels/comics through its three digital library apps: Libby, cloudLibrary, and RBdigital.

Does the Library have homework help for my child?

HelpNow: Brainfuse HelpNow is an all-in-one suite of tutoring services designed for a wide range of academic needs whether it’s tackling a tough homework problem, mastering a particular topic, or writing a paper. The Brainfuse full-service test center offers practice tests for all levels in math, reading, and writing as well as college preparatory tests – including the SAT.
