Wastewater Modeling and Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Plan

Description: A Professional Services Agreement was awarded to Freese and Nichols, Inc., for a wastewater modeling study. A notice of intent was submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, (TCEQ) in November of 2018 to participate in the Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative, (SSOI). The plan was approved in February of 2019. The modeling study determines if the existing wastewater lines are the proper size to accommodate the current flow. This also helps identify areas where we have infiltration from ground/rainwater. The data from this study will allow staff to better determine the most essential locations for future projects. Since the City of Bedford is nearly built out, it is recommended that a study be completed every ten years.

Project Cost: $370,000

Funding Source(s): Utility Repair Fund

Anticipated Completion: Summer 2021
