UPDATE: The Bedford Police Department is currently on a 3-4 month waiting period for catalytic converter kits. Catalytic converter theft is on the rise across the country. To combat this alarming trend, the Bedford Police Department is providing free Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention Kits for Bedford residents to engrave their vehicle’s identification number and spray paint their converter. Each kit includes a cordless engraver, high temperature paint, and how-to instructions. All kits must be returned, once completed.
Kits can be checked out Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A BPD Officer will contact residents (in order of submitted forms) to pick up a kit at the Police Station, 2121 L. Don Dodson Dr. Once all kits have been checked out, a waiting list will be created.
