We are all aware Texas is facing unprecedented stress due to the winter storms. Oncor’s rolling blackouts affected the TCWSP’s ability to distribute water. Freezing conditions have caused an increase in demand of water supply due to line breaks and running faucets.
The City of Bedford and Tarrant County Water Supply Project’s (TCWSP) is requesting all customers to take drastic measures to reduce their use of water usage immediately until Tuesday, February 23. By reducing water usage, it will decrease the burden on the system so everyone can continue receiving a safe and adequate water supply in Bedford.
One way to reduce the demand is by decreasing the amount of water flowing through the faucets. We ask residents who are taking measures to prevent water lines from freezing, to reduce their faucets from a constant flow to a steady drip. We also ask to momentarily refrain from washing clothes, running dishwashers, and to decrease bathing/shower time. Additionally, if broken water lines are found within a house or area, service should be shut off immediately.
