UPDATE (March 26, 10:36 a.m.): The school has been cleared by Bedford Police and students are returning to class.

An important message from Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District to Bell Manor Elementary

parents this morning:

March 26, 2021

To all Bell Manor Elementary parents,

This morning, Bell Manor Elementary received an email that contained a threatening message. The message was immediately shared with the Bedford Police Department, and our staff is cooperating with their investigation. While we have no reason to believe there is any danger to students or staff, all threats are taken seriously and investigated.

In an abundance of caution, the Bedford Police Department asked us to temporarily evacuate students to nearby HEB ISD buildings while the police department conducts a comprehensive search of Bell Manor. Most students evacuated to Pennington Field; students in the PALS and ECSE programs evacuated to the Pat May Center.

We expect that after the police department’s search is completed, we will be able to return to the building and complete the rest of the school day. We will share a follow-up communication once students and staff return to the school.

HEB ISD Superintendent of Schools
