Calling all artists – let’s think outside the box! To further beautify Bedford, the City is launching the traffic signal box art project! This year, five artist proposals will be chosen to cover five different traffic boxes in Bedford. The overall goal of the project will be to wrap a total of 26 boxes.

Proposals will be accepted based on two themes, “Local Inspiration” and “Celebrating Cultures.” Proposals for “Local Inspiration” can include any design inspired by Bedford and its landscape and community. Proposals for “Celebrating Cultures” can include any design that reflects the beauty and uniqueness of the diversity that makes up our community.

The project is open to artists of ALL ages residing in Bedford and/or Tarrant County, with preference given to Bedford residents. Each artist is eligible to submit one design, per category. Only digital submissions will be accepted, since the design selected will be converted to a digitally-printed wrap. Contest winners will be selected based upon appropriateness, creativity, craftsmanship, and adherence to the theme. In addition, selected artists will be awarded $100 for their work being chosen in the project. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 29.
