Residents of all ages are invited to paint rocks with kind and positive messages for the BedfordROCKS Trail project, organized by the Bedford Beautification Commission. Commission members plan to collect painted rocks from the community over the next several week and scatter them near the trail near the Library.
Good news, there’s no need to go shopping for paint or hunting for the perfect rock! The Bedford Public Library, located at 2424 Forest Ridge Dr., will host several free Rock Painting Parties. Library staff will provide all rocks and supplies needed to complete your work of art. They will then hold onto the painted rocks until they are placed near the trail. The painting party dates are as follows:
- Sunday, October 3 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
- Monday, October 4 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday, October 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday, October 23 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Library’s Beer & Brats event
If you cannot make a painting party, you can paint your own rock at home and drop it off at the Library between Friday, October 1 and Sunday, November 7. Then, at noon on World Kindness Day (Saturday, November 13), the community is invited to take a pile of painted rocks and sprinkle them around the designated areas of the trail, beginning at the Library. Once completed, everyone will be able to stroll the Library grounds and look at all the beautiful creations and positive messages.
