The City recently challenged Bedford Junior High art students to create a design that would be used for the first decorated crosswalk in Bedford! The crosswalk, located at the intersection of Carolyn Drive and Brown Trail, leads to Bedford Junior High and is frequently used by the students.
BJH art teacher Peter Sebastian used the crosswalk design contest as part of a classroom assignment for his students. A subcommittee, comprised of City staff and Cultural Commission members then reviewed all designs, chose five finalists, and the winner. The top six designs were created by:
- Adilene Reyna, finalist
- Jonas Evans, finalist
- Alyssa Norrid, finalist
- Alani Rojas, finalist
- Brooke Beltz, finalist
- Axel Reynolds, winner
Congratulations to 9th grader Axel Reynolds, whose artwork was chosen as the winning design! Her work will be hand-painted onto the crosswalk beginning Monday, December 27.
