Traffic Signal Box Art Project graphic

Calling all artists! The City is now accepting submissions for the next round of traffic signal box art designs! A total of seven artist proposals will be chosen to cover seven different traffic boxes in Bedford. City staff wish to wrap 26 boxes in total, and wrapped the first 7 in 2021.

Proposals will be accepted based on two themes, “Local Inspiration” and “Celebrating Cultures.” Proposals for “Local Inspiration” can include any design inspired by Bedford and its landscape and community. Proposals for “Celebrating Cultures” can include any design that reflects the beauty and uniqueness of the diversity that makes up our community.

The project is open to artists of ALL ages residing in Bedford and/or Tarrant County, with preference given to Bedford residents. Each artist is eligible to submit one design, per category. Contest winners will be selected based upon appropriateness, creativity, craftsmanship, and adherence to the theme. Check out the previous winners here. In addition, selected artists will be paid $200 for their work being chosen in the project. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 27.
