We hope you’re staying warm tonight, Bedford. Here are the latest updates impacting trash collections and City services for Thursday:
Trash Delays
Due to the weather forecast, Republic Services has made the decision to cancel trash and recycling collections for Thursday, February 24.
Collections for Thursday’s customers will now occur on Friday, February 25, and Friday’s customers will be serviced on Saturday, February 26. If there are any additional changes to this schedule, we’ll be sure to communicate them on the City’s website and social media channels.
City Closures
City offices will remain closed Thursday, February 24. This includes City Hall, Municipal Court, Old Bedford School (senior programming), Bedford Public Library, and the Animal Shelter. All emergency personnel will remain on duty.
Road Conditions
Road conditions will continue to deteriorate overnight across the region, and ice/sleet accumulations will result in hazardous driving conditions. Public Works crews will continue to brine major roadways and thoroughfares, as weather conditions allow. We know you’re all experts in this by now, but please stay home and off the roads, if possible. In addition, make sure you’re following the U.S. National Weather Service or local news stations for the latest weather information.
Early Voting
Tarrant County will make a decision later this evening regarding early voting location hours for Thursday. We mention this because the Bedford Public Library is an early voting location. When new information is released, we’ll update that for you here.
