Animal Shelter Updates text with photo of the shelter

If you’ve been looking for the purrfect furry friend to add to your family, now’s your chance! The Bedford Animal Shelter is offering free adoptions until further notice.

Also, beginning Monday, May 9, the Animal Shelter will temporarily close on Mondays, due to staffing shortages. This is to allow Shelter staff to completely focus on animal care. Until further notice, shelter lobby hours are:

  • Monday: CLOSED
  • Tuesday through Friday: 1 to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: CLOSED

Animal Services staff are available outside of the lobby hours by appointment for anyone wanting to see a specific adoptable animal or to surrender an animal. To make an appointment, please call the Animal Shelter at 817-952-2191.

As always, for any urgent animal-related issue, please call 817-952-2191 during normal business hours or 817-952-2127 (Police Department Dispatch) outside of normal business hours.
