Bedford City Manager Jimmy Stathatos recently announced he promoted Development Director Andrea Roy to Assistant City Manager. Roy joined the City of Bedford in January 2021 and oversees economic development, building inspection and permits, planning, and neighborhood services (code enforcement). Her new role is effective immediately.
“As we move forward implementing the Council’s goals of revitalizing our neighborhoods and shopping centers, Andrea’s experience and education are exactly what we need to take Bedford to the next level,” Stathatos said. “Since her arrival, she’s played a key role in the City’s advancement of the Bedford Commons development, as well as the acquisition of Campus West property. Both projects will have a lasting positive impact on our local economy and community.”
Roy has more than 20 years of experience in economic development business recruitment/retention, state and local incentive programs, contract negotiation, planning and zoning regulation, municipal development, as well as data collection and analysis. She received her bachelor's degree in geography with a concentration in community and urban studies from Texas Tech University and also earned a master's degree in regional and city planning from the University of Oklahoma.
“I am excited to continue serving Bedford citizens in this new capacity and look forward to bringing a variety of initiatives to fruition that will preserve, expand, and diversify our tax base,” Roy said. “I’m thrilled to be a part of all the wonderful things to come as I assist the City Manager, Mayor, and Council with their vision for our community.”
