[ARCHIVED] Loquita Traylor Celebrates 50 Years with City of Bedford

Loquita Traylor with Mayor & Council

Today, July 22, marks the last day of a 50-year career with the City of Bedford for our Customer Services Manager, Loquita Traylor!

Loquita began working for Bedford in 1972, where she served as the City’s first receptionist. At that time (if you can believe it), 28 employees worked for the City and Forest Ridge Drive was still a gravel road.

Since then, Loquita has served the citizens of Bedford in many roles, including in the Human Resources Department, as the Permit Secretary for the Building Official, and most recently, with the Utility Billing Department for almost 35 years.

If you’ve ever stopped by City Hall to pay your water bill in-person, you’ve probably spoke with Loquita at least once over the years.

Join us in congratulating Loquita on an incredible 50 years of dedicated service to the City of Bedford! We wish her nothing but the best in this next chapter, which we know will be spent traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, crafting, and decorating (she’s pretty good at it, y’all)! Bedford won’t be the same without Loquita, and we hope she’ll still stop by City Hall every once in a while to say hi.
