Properly Disposing Expired or Unused Medications

drug disposal envelope box hanging on the wall at the Bedford Fire Department

Looking for a convenient way to dispose of unused or expired medications? The Bedford Fire Department has got you covered!

Just inside the main entrance at Fire Station No. 1 (1816 Bedford Rd.), there is a box filled with takeaway envelopes to grab and fill with any unused or expired prescriptions. Once you fill the envelope, just seal it and mail it away for safe destruction. All envelopes are incinerated unopened, keeping them out of local waterways. Please note, this does NOT include sharps/needles.
