Animal Services staff is in immediate need of donations to help with the large influx of cats taken in from a private residence this week. The shelter is seeking donations of the following items:
Towels and Washcloths
Newspapers
Bleach
Dawn Soap - Regular
KennelSol
Laundry Soap
Puppy Pads
Dog Bones and Treats
Please drop off donations directly to the shelter, located at 1809 Reliance Parkway. Staff will be available to receive the donated items until 5 p.m. today, July 11 and throughout the week. If items need to be dropped off outside normal business hours, or the shelter’s front door is locked, please leave the donations at the door.
Due to potential criminal charges, details of the incident cannot be released. At this time, the City does not need additional volunteers to help with the situation.
The shelter will remain closed to the public on Wednesday, July 12. As a reminder, staff is not able to process animal adoptions or surrenders until the shelter reopens on Thursday, July 13.
