If you’ve been thinking about joining The Bedford Center YMCA, now is the perfect time!
The extra $5 discount for resident rates officially goes away January 1, 2024. Any resident who has already joined or joins The Bedford Center YMCA before 2024 will be able take advantage of the discount for the continuation of their membership. This means, everyone who has joined or will join in 2023 will permanently receive this extra $5 discount from now on if they don’t end their membership and rejoin after January 1, 2024.
The move to end the extra $5 resident discount was used as an extra incentive to residents who were thinking about joining The Bedford Center YMCA the first year of operations, with the intention it would be phased out to reduce future budget impact. The Council unanimously approved the decision to phase it out during the November 14 City Council meeting.
As of September 30, there are approximately 3,500 active membership units at The Bedford Center YMCA. About 80 percent of those memberships are Bedford residents. The original membership goal for the first year of operations was 2,300.
